Metrology on flying platforms

We are happy to participate in the Priority Programme of the German Research Foundation 2433 “Metrology on Flying Platforms”. The Priority Programme focuses on measurements assisted by UAVs and a quantification of the measurement uncertainty.

ACS joins forces with the chair for Digital Communication Systems ACS. Our joint project “Range-Extended Radar Sensing using Flying Intelligent Surfaces“ aims to enable radar-based localization of objects in locations that are difficult to access, without the radar system itself having to fly on the UAV. Instead, a reconfigurable intelligent surface acts as a bridge for electromagnetic waves. Unlike the radar system, the surface is small, lightweight, energy-efficient, and therefore only has a small impact on the UAV flight performance.
